I have had a sharp stabbing pain in the center where my stomach and rib cage meet, 3 out of the last 5 days.

Sometimes it lasts a couple seconds and other times it lasts a couple minutes. During this painful time it hurts to press on that area and also to breath deeply. 

I'm a 22 year old female. 
Is this something I need to have looked at or nothing to worry about?
