I fell from a ladder three days ago and I landed on top of my dryer, but my ribs hit the top end of the dryer and the pain was so severe that I couldn't breathe. It hurted so bad that I couldn't breathe, cough, laugh or even with hicups it would hurt too, but now it just hurts when I bend or press the area. How do I know if it's fractured or just bruised inside?
Thank you for answering my question. It's been 7 days now and I have improved alot but I still have alot to go because I still can't sleep on my side or press on that side, but hopefully I'll get better soon. :-) Thank you.
That fall sounds nasty. Even if you suffered a fracture, there is nothing you can do, except wait for it to heal itself. Obviously the pain is diminishing, so just be careful, gentle with your body, don't put the rib cage under any pressure or stress. Be aware of the injured side when sitting and lying down and adjust for the least pressure. Wishing you well!
