I injured my wrist last week from a fall. I seeked medical help and they took xrays of my scaphoid bone. The xrays didn't show a fracture but they decided to put half slab cast/splint on. The following week I had xrays which showed a hairline fracture. I'm in a cast for three weeks until my next follow up. Someone told me that hairline fractures of the scaphoid are more serious due to the location, type of the bone compared to a hairline fracture of other bones. Is this true? How long does it take for a hairline fracture of the scaphoid to heal. And is hairline the same term for a cracked bone?
