Gastroesophageal Reflux in CF Not Caused by Cough

Posted Dec 20 2008 6:44pm
"Gastroesophageal reflux (GER) is prevalent in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF), but it does not appear to be brought about by coughing; in fact, the converse may be the case, Belgian investigators report in the August issue of Gut."

Reuters Health Information, August 2008

More independent suggestion that GERD plays a surprisingly common role in many pulmonary diseases. At the very least, it seems likely to me, the autonomic (vagal) stimulus-response from gastric reflux complicates the associated pulmonary problems.
