Hey there boys and girls, it's been a while since I've put anything up here. Since leaving my job in May, I haven't had the time to blog.
Maybe it's because my new employer limits
internet access. I'll admit it... a lot of the posts that I put up were created on company time. When you have unlimited
internet access, a horrible IT department to monitor your
internet usage, and are only filling around 700 scripts per week you kill the time on the web.
I swear that I spent at least half of my workday playing on the
internet. Maybe that contributed to my displeasure with my previous employer. I didn't feel that I was being used to the full extent of my capabilities.
Anyhow, at my new job we have very limited and highly monitored
internet access. Plus we fill 400 or so scripts per day, so there's not time to goof off while on the clock.
I now have an hour lunch break every day, work a ten-hour shift, and have pharmacist overlap for seven hours of each shift. I see my kids' school and sporting events and have supper with my family on a regular basis. Life is treating me pretty good right now.
That being said, I'm going to shut down the Pharmacy God blog permanently. I don't have the time or energy to post on topics like I had in the past. Maybe it was a little bit of an ego thing, but I felt that I had to post something all the time to keep traffic coming to my site. That's not why I started to write, but that's what it transformed into over time.
In the near future I think that I'll start a new blog that mixes both personal and business thoughts, but the posts will be less frequent (I've already got the site, I just haven't done anything with it yet). I'll put a link up on the sidebar if you want to come check-out my new blog. I'll post under my real name. No more hiding under the
anonymity that the Pharmacy God persona offers.
