I've read in a few places that saturated fat is supposedly more satiating than other fats. While some individuals may have this experience, there is no evidence that this is true in general. A study done earlier this year found no difference in satiety between saturated, polyunsaturated, and monounsaturated fats. The study was a little strange however, as they used muffins as the delivery food for the fats.
Another new study compared satiety between saturated and monounsaturated fats. Again there was no difference, even for the study group that exercised. Also, a study from 2009 found no difference in satiety from different fats.
Maybe some of the perceived satiety from saturated fats is actually psychological? People might guess that butter is more satiating than olive oil, but overall there's no evidence to support this.
