Philadelphia Eagle’s running back, Brian Westbrook, sprained his ankle on the first play of the second quarter against the Steelers last Sunday. As Westbrook jumped over corner back William Gay, he landed on the back of Tra Thomas’ leg, sustaining a right ankle injury. His ankle was taped and he finished the game with 52 yards rushing. In June, Westbrook had surgery on this same ankle to clean out scar tissue and remove bone fragments. The severity of the ankle sprain remains unclear as rumors about a high ankle sprain circulate. More information about Brian Westbrook’s surgery in June.
