Don’t Let Lack of Sleep Turn You into “The Walking Dead”: Visit a LifeBridge Health Sleep Center

Anyone who has ever gotten a workout from tossing and turning can tell you that a lack of sleep can cause increased irritability and an inability to focus. We can feel like the “Waking Dead,” zombie-crawling through our days. The physical effects of insomnia can’t be understated: A 2008 study revealed that “Insomniacs who sleep fewer than five hours a night are five times more likely to suffer hypertension than people who sleep well.” Insomnia also ups our risks of heart disease and diabetes; it can weaken our immune systems and contribute to depression and anxiety disorders. There’s no one culprit behind this common sleep disorder.
