Does a mesenteric cyst have anything to do with the mesentary?

I recently had a mesenteric cyst removed from my upper abdomen (located under gall bladder and stomach). It had given me the most pain I had ever experienced in my life. Does a mesenteric cyst have anything to do with the mesenteric artery?
