Doc Searls: patient as platform and “point of integration” | e-Patients.net

Doc Searls: patient as platform and “point of integration” | e-Patients.net: "Doc goes on to say he believes “the best way to fix health care is for patients to be the platform for the care they get from doctors and institutional systems.” What does he mean by “platform”? “When we put the user at the center, and make them the point of integration, the entire system becomes simpler, more robust, more scalable, and more useful.” Point of integration is what Doc means by platform.

Consider this restatement:

When we put the patient at the center, and make them the point of integration, the entire system becomes simpler, more robust, more scalable, and more useful."

In a way it's sad that something so obvious has to be said at all - but the truth is that all of us need to be reminded that patients need to come first !
