Yes this is confusing, as its already Saturday the 25th of October 9.am here in N.Z. In Ohio its around 4p.m Friday 24th Oct. I go nuts trying to figure out time differences. I found this online (see below) and am incredibly happy to see I was included, for the first time in my life COLUMBUS -- Donald R. Klingler, 70, of Columbus, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008.
Graveside memorial services will be Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton.
Shaw-Davis Funeral Home in Columbus, is handling arrangements.
Donald was born in Coshocton, the son of Raymond and Gladys (Stickle) Klingler and served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and for the government for 20 years.
Surviving are daughters, Lisa Klingler of Columbus, Lillian Donna Croom of California, Pat Hunday of Kentucky, and Kirsten Bentley of New Zealand; several grandchildren; sisters, Betty Thompson of California, Barbara Darnell of North Carolina, and Joyce McVay Degler (Myron) of Millersburg; brothers, Richard (Sharon) Klingler of California, and Clifford (Dee) Klingler of Texas; and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son; two sisters; and three brothers. The link for this is here.
I also have added an old picture of Dad taken back in the 70s here in New-Zealand. Around 78/79 when I was about 6 years old. I don't have a scanner to hand so I had to take a pic of the pic.
Obviously I haven't been able to make it to the memorial, this is not because I haven't wanted too, I didnt have $5ooo,00 to spare.
There were other routes I could have gone down to have a video or something read out on my behalf. Alas there has been a problem. I'm not sure if Joyce has received my emails or not?
Or If I'm not receiving Joyce s emails, as I had a problem for a while with international emails reaching my in-box grr.
Today Im going to keep busy. I'm going to paint the house over the holiday period a bedroom, the lounge and kitchen needs revamping, including stripping and sanding the poo brown off the kitchen cupboards. Busy is good. I'm going to motivate my kids into helping, that will be a joyful experience, not.
Otherwise Im over the operation. I still face drainage issues, and the odd whack day, but I'm *Sooo over it!* (said with high intonation). Joyce if you read this can you please contact me, my number on dads Ph Bill.
