I am a 21 year-old student and am in my final semester of school. I have recently been under a lot of stress and it has been manifesting itself in lots of strange physical ways. Last night, at a friend's house for dinner, whenever I would get up to use the bathroom, my left thigh on top would hurt, almost like a bee sting. I ignored it and went to bed. Today I woke up and, once I got up from bed, had another sharp pain in the same area, except in the middle it was numb, and around was a sharp pain. The pain seemed to get a little better both with ice and with a hot shower, but I am very scared that it could be DVT, although I have no other symptoms and almost no risk factors (although I am overweight). I mean, there is minimal swelling (so minimal that I'm unsure), and no pain or swelling in my calf or lower part of my leg. In fact, only one area (maybe 4 in. long) has any pain/numbness at all. When I stand up, however, the area feels very painful for a few seconds, like my skin is being ripped or burned. I think that this could be either a spider bite of some kind or maybe even meralgia paresthetica or a pinched nerve, but it is not occurring in my outer thigh. I'm pretty freaked out right now and hope that someone can help me figure out what this is! I did ride a 9 hour plane ride at the end of January, but I was sure to get up and walk around every hour or two, but could I still be at risk?
