I found this recent interview with Loren Cordain. He touches on a few things related to saturated fat. He also points how the combination of saturated fats and inflammatory foods is particularly bad.
The most interesting part of the interview deals with an all-meat diet. Cordain points to a research paper(pdf) on the remains of a pre-western Inuit. The diet was presumably all protein and fat, with perhaps some berries when in season. There was extensive artherosclerosis in the remains.
He notes that this is a data point that the zero-carb, all-meat proponents must explain. If an all meat diet is so healthy, then why did this Intuit have atherosclerosis and also osteoporosis?
