Misty there is ALWAYS hope! I had knee pain for decades also and ran through every type of medical specialist (neurology, orthopedics, etc) without any success. Turns out one of the biggest contributing factors to my pain was improper structural alignment. In other words my whole body was moving poorly and the dynamics focused the problem in my knees. There are several different types of structural integration therapies available.
Rolfing is probably the best known but some care must be taken to find a practitioner who will listen to your pain levels. The technique moves the fascia (layer between skin and muscle) to reshape how the muscles move. Feldenkrais is a much more gentle process which works with what you are and what you can do. There is also Hellerwork and several others.
You might also find benefit in the Trager Approach and other CAM therapies.
There are several free podcasts available at my website to give you more information. www.unbreakyourhealth.com/podcasts.htm
If it's any consolation, I couldn't walk through our local mall a few years ago without sitting down due to pain. Today I can pound a treadmill! Each of us have a unique health situation and the challenge is to find the right therapy that is needed to solve the source of your health problem.
Good luck!

I agree that structural integration or one of the other therapies Alan mentioned is likely to be helpful. You might also try essential oils to reduce inflammation and pain. There are a number of options, but I am going to recommend the one that worked for me: a blend called Panaway from Young Living. There's some information here: http://aromatherapy.bellevuemassagetherapy.com/2009/02/panaway-essential-oil.html

take 2 aspirins (seriously) squash them a powder mix a few drops of water of some liquid then appli this to your knee around the sides of cap area rubb this aspin mix into your skin with your thunmb like your sanding paint ? ok then wait a week do this again
after wards wait 6 weeks befor repeating it . It will work not just the knee but outher joints / muscles remeber to check the back of your leg and the inside of you thigh for sore points when you find then put some small mount of aspirin on the top skin and rub it in the key here is rub the aspirin into skin
hi you have pain you must not eat pain killers just buy extra virgin olive oil, black seed oil and camphor oil massage all of them daily three times for one month to two do it till the pain vanishes you can also e-mail me on fagp1rpp@hotmail.com for more info contact me.And please stay away from aspirins and pain killers as they are rich in steriods.
thx
YEah... your knee pain is caused from a deficiency in aspirin... take drugs; it will make it all better... till your liver cirrhosis anyway... then maybe you’re just deficient in another drug... till well, you’re kidneys fail... then there is always dialysis.... yeah... maybe drugs are a bad idea... especially when there is safe options like Structural integration

Chronic Knee Pain For 14 years
Posted by Misty_Mtn_Hop
Hi, I am 23 years old and have experienced daily knee pain for around 14 years;I am convinced that this knee pain is due primarily to an injury I experienced when I was younger. I collided with a metal pole while playing and have had stiffness, pain and some swelling every day since. When it happened I was ten and it swelled with fluid (12 in. around) which had to be drained with a syringe. Now I have a numb spot from the draining and cannot escape this pain. It makes itself most known when weather takes a turn for the worse i.e. a thunderstorm or any strong change in barometric pressure. There are days that steps cause discomfort and stairs break my heart. I’ve tried two separate chiropractors (one traditional and one nutritional), knee wraps, knee braces, muscle relaxing gels, massages, magnets for joint pain, chondroitin supplements for arthritis, heating pads and plain old pain killers. I feel like I rely on the pain killers for comfortable everyday living. Someone please help; suggestions are welcome in all shapes and sizes. – Side note: I moved from the NW corner of Ohio to the middle of North Carolina and still experience the same amt. of pain, if that helps. Thanks-you for reading!!
