Cancer.

Posted Aug 04 08 7:14pm

You may have noticed that the title of my blog has changed. It was a difficult decision for me really. My involvement in the breast cancer community has been such a monumental part of my life. I never imagined the connections I would make, or the lives that would touch me so greatly. It will be a part of me forever.

I opted to change the name because my relationship has expanded, and my reach has extended far beyond breast cancer. People who have been affected by cancer in some way, shape, or form are a community. It is not an identity peoplewantto have, but soon learn the life lessons involved. I’ve received emails from people with Hodgkin’s disease, leukemia and ovarian cancer – all of them have blown me away. Plus, I can never forget the impact little Harrison made on my life as he fought, like the warrior he was, against Neuroblastoma.

I am tired of people all around me receiving a cancer diagnosis, but I am here to help as always. It is who I am and what I do. I research, study, talk to great minds, and all of this information comes to me as if I ammeantto share it. I simply keep learning.

Those of you – my friends (and others who I have yet to meet) who read my words regularly –thank you. A special thank you to a reader who planted the idea of changing the title. I am very glad that I have been able to helpyouspeak up about your care. If I can help just one person, then I am doing my job.

So the address will forever bepinkribbonsally(it is who I am), but the title is nowMy Relationship With Cancer.
