I'm a nurse who recently had a car wreck... ended up with broken ribs and a lacerated liver. I was kept in the hospital while they monitored my blood levels to ensure that the liver did heal itself and stop bleeding. I am still on pain meds of a narcotic variety while my ribs heal. She should have been monitored in the hospital while there was bleeding in the liver.
On December 6, 2010 I had a car accident and lacerated my liver and spleen and also broke a rib and was in the hospital for 8 days (3 of those days I was in ICU), I was on morphine and other pain meds at the hospital and after I was released they gave me a prescription for oxycodone which I have been taking for the past 7 days.

MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW SAYS SHE HAS A LACERATED LIVER AND THE DR. GAVE HER PAIN MEDS. I HAVE HEARD THAT YOU CAN'T TAKE PAIN MEDS WITH THIS CONDITION, IS THIS TRUE?
