Can a full recovery be reached following a sprained ankle?

My 13 y/o daughter got her Rt. ankle hurt 3 days ago at a basketball game. She said she felt a pop while "side-stepping" and started limping, unable to finish playing the game. I took her to urgent care the following day, x-ray was done and the doctor determine it was "sprained". She has minimal swelling, slight bruising w/ moderate tenderness and painful weigh bearing. She is now on crutches for 1 wk until cleared by the clinic. She is very sad and disappointed at not being able to play basketball for the next few days/weeks..? She is frequently asking me when can she return to play. I know it all depends on how severe her injury is, but my question is, can she still play basketball like she is used to? She is very competetive, she has been playing for 4 yrs. and cannot wait to play High School basketball. What are the chances of a full recovery and can/should she hold on to her dreams of playing College ball? I just don't know what to tell her at this point, but I'm trying to stay positive. Thank you.
