burning sensation when done urinating; could it be something serious?

Hi

a few months ago i had some itchiness on my vigina but went to the drug store and got me some medicine to reduce it. i started feeling better within 4 days and the problem was gone. Now i have this burning sensation when i'm done peeing! i tried drinking lots of water but that didn't work.  could this be serious or can i just take care of it with home remedies?! are they related to one another?
