Last night, I drove down to Ithaca to meet with Barefoot Ken Bob . Ken is famous for running many marathons barefoot. He is going across the country giving free sessions on barefoot running, so I decided to check one out.
Ken talked for a while about his experiences with barefoot running. Then he taught us some some basic techniques for proper running form.
Next, he had us run on a gravel path. Ouch! I can run barefoot on pavement okay, but barefoot on a gravel path is a different story. He noted that each surface teaches us something different, and that we should try to run on a variety of surfaces.
Overall, I felt this was a good session. If Ken comes to your town, you might want to check it out. He gives the workshops for free, but he accepts donations on his website to help with travel costs.
