The public is invited to vote by January 30, 2010 on which contestant offers the best insight on why Green Is Gorgeous. As a former competitor in the Miss Arkansas Pageant herself, Henry is the ideal host and creator of the contest. She won the Community Service and Quality of Life Awards presented by the Arkansas Miss America pageant for a program she created called “Promoting Health Through Whole Person Wellness” which inspired the residents of Little Rock and surrounding communities to live a balanced life of mind/body/spirit. Henry used the scholarship monies she won during her pageant appearances to earn her bachelors degree in broadcast journalism. After becoming a TV news anchor in 1997, she established her own scholarship for the contestant with the highest interview score majoring in TV news: “The Tamara Henry Broadcast Journalism Award.”

Since her career began, Henry has accrued a handsome resume of accomplishments including her WB and Fox anchor jobs. More recently, she has been an eco-TV host for various television shows including Metro Motion, a show featuring L.A.’s traffic impact on the environment, carpooling and public transportation. She is one of the news anchor/reporters for Santa Monica City TV 16, featuring positive news and interviews with city leaders on issues that impact the community. Henry, who holds a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology with an emphasis in Consciousness, Health & Healing, also created and produced her own spiritual talk show, “IN with Tamara Henry,” which aired on Time Warner Cable in the greater Los Angeles area from 2006-2008. Carving out a powerful niche, she continues to bring her unique brand of eco-reporting to a variety of hosting roles on the web, TV and live events.

Henry is a registered producer at Discovery Communications, having co-produced a film currently on the Military Channel, and is a comedy-reality star along with her dog “Jimmy Chew” on Animal Planet.

Passionate about the environment, “Green T” is committed to everything green and truly lives the green lifestyle. She “walks the talk,” living car-less in auto-centric Los Angeles, roller-blading, carpooling and taking public transportation to get around the city for the past nine years.
