3 dead and 945 confirmed cases of Swine flu New-Zealand

Three people have been confirmed they have died from swine flu here in New-Zealand. A 19 year old man, a 42 year old man and a young girl died this morning. They have said clearly the numbers for swine flu here in New-Zealand are much higher, however they have been only testing certain cases that present. Over 30 patients are in one Hospital alone with severe swine flu symptoms.I just read an interesting article see here. The journal Science published two new animal studies which show the novel H1N1 (swine) influenza now spreading in New Zealand can cause more serious lung disease than seasonal flu strains and sheds infective material from the lung and throat tissue, where it reproduces at higher rates.
My friends daughter is currently recovering from Swine flu symptoms. She has had all the symptoms head ache, vomiting, sore throat, cough, high temperature and diarrhoea. She has been feeling miserable with it had the symptoms for the last 6 days. She is now recovering. Aside from the Doctor busting out a mask, and mentioning she has all swine flu symptoms, when my friend asked "what do I do with the little kids, do I keep them home?" The Doctor was completely ofay (relaxed) about it. My friend is immunodeficient, so she bought some Tamiflu to hopefully reduce any serious symptoms if she gets it. We have socialised with her and her family several times this week, so we are all just waiting and seeing. So far the people I know of who have had it, haven't had the milder case.
My confusion is always around "what is it I have?", as on two occasions where I believed I had Flu and ignored it I actually had sepsis... I had exactly the same symptoms as Flu. Fingers crossed we are all good, especially my dear friend she so doesn't need any other illnesses right now.
Now for some wonderful words of knowledge from Sid, wow he truly has some awesome insights on yesterday's post! On Moral Code.
Everyone has a personal moral code no matter if they are aware of it or not. It sounds as if you have no make that it is clear that you have had dealings with individuals who have set the bar for their own codes so low micro-organisms could not slither under those bars. As we grow we modify that code based on new knowledge and experience. How far we trust a person how we draw a first impression and personal filters towards new people are part of that revised Moral Code.
