15/30

Posted Feb 10 2009 11:29am

I did some interval sprints at the gym today.  I went back to the guidelines from this study that says work and rest periods should be between 15 and 30 seconds to improve aerobic capacity to the greatest extent.  I was also influenced by the work and rest periods in sports, which I plan to write about soon.

Today I sprinted about 15 seconds and then rested around 30 seconds.  I did 8 to 10 of these (I lost count).  I shortened the rest period on the last couple to simulate the end of a successful hunt, where a hunter would finally catch up to the prey.
