I'm a writer, mostly essays on a variety of subjects, but often on the place of people with disabilities in society. My own journey as a person with a disability is chronicled in a memoir, Seven Wheelchairs: A Life beyond Polio, which was published Fall 2008 by The University of Iowa Press.
