Pineapple mint - latin name Mentha suavolens ‘variegata’:

  • low growing plant
  • hardy, perennial herb
  • variegated cream  leaves
  • pineapple scent
  • type of apple mint

Growing conditions for Pineapple mint:

  • rich, moist soil
  • shady site
  • flowers late summer
  • tubs & pots

Height of Pineapple mint is approx 30 - 60cm or 1 - 2 feet. Cut stems frequently to promote new growth.  It does not form a dense bush naturally.

Use Pineapple mint in:

  • salads , when chopped
  • fruit salads
  • summer drinks
  • peppermint tea
