Description: Very well known shrubs grown in warmer countries for their edible fruit. Citrus is a must for the Mediterranean garden, and are excellent grown in tubs and containers. They are highly ornamental plants with their dark green, glossy leaves and deliciously scented star-like flowers.  The branches are green and often thorny. The leaves when crushed give off a strong citrus aroma. A fruit laden tree is a sight to behold and of course you can use the fruit which are as good as any imported ones.

Hardiness: down to 0C so must be overwintered in frost free place

Height: 1-2m and taller in warm climates

Position: Full sun

Soil: Well drained fertile soil

Water: Will take drought for short periods though grown in a container they are easily kept moist

Usage: As a feature plant in a container or in formal groups around a patio, where you can pick your own fruit for that deserved Gin and tonic!
