Jobs for February in the Vegetable Garden

Early sprouting broccoli, cabbages, sprouts, kale, leeks, celery and parsnips

Other jobs:Apply fertiliser to: vegetable garden before sowing early crops; over-wintered crops such as broad beans, onions and cabbage; gooseberries & currants

  • dig if vegetable garden is dry
  • cut down autumn-fruiting raspberry canes to ground level and mulch
  • continue to chit potatoes

There are lots of jobs to do in the vegetable garden in February, but do not go on the soil if it is wet.
