The easiest plant I have ever grown is a Christmas Cactus. My goodness, stick those things in the window, water them when you remember (my husband loves to leave half finished water bottles lying around--I water all my plants with them rather than dumping them down the drain), and they will flower like mad...and not just at Christmastime. Year long, you'll have pretty flowers adorning your window sill. All you have to do is replant the plant if your pot gets too small for it to thrive in, water it once in a while, and let it get some sun and you're done!
