That's really amazing that a glance at life, as opposed to a grim steadfast wall of brick, is uplifting to a hospital patient to the point of freeing them from some of what they suffer from. Even the simple act of looking at a garden, not to mention (as you did) actually creating one, is good for us!
Gardening is wonderful for us. I read that there is a bacteria in the soil, that when you breathe it actually helps you make serotonin. Just looked it up. It is mycobacterium vaccae. Wow!
Being around plants is good for aging!
