Eli Manning promotes toxic junk food

Posted by sheryl w.

Eli Manning, the quarterback for the Giants played a fabulous game the other day. I was up jumping around.

However, I am disappointed to hear that he is going to promote oreo cookies.

Surely someone that is a hero for young kids should be more responsible than to promote toxic junk food to them. I really think that they should be aware of what they are promoting and think twice before they take loads of extra cash.

I can understand your concern, Sheryl, especially since those cookies, no matter how good even I think they taste, aren't good for anyone, especially kids who should be learning to eat healthy snacks at a young age.

Yet at the same time, there are personalities out in the spotlight right now that are/were "heros" to kids that have really not been shining examples of good decisions for todays kids to look up to, I think.

I think the responsibility is in the parents' hands. In many cases, they're the one buying the groceries. I hope they say no to the cookies.
