Worthy Links for Busy Moms

I’m ready for a break from writing. I wanted to share these great posts with you today. It’s time to relax and enjoy the wonders of the blogosphere!

Holly wrote Mmmm, Cookies share’s a great carrot cake cookie recipe that’s healthy and low fat. She also introduced a Couch to 5K podcast series that’s available to join you in your walk to run programs. Holly is part of our great group of Healthy You Challengers. She’s been doing a fantastic Job!

The BlogHer Network is always filled with wonderful articles. Today, I visited Leann of In My Voice where she brings up a thought provoking question on The Ideal Body and our role models. Where do you stand on the challenges of living in a society gushing over movie stars, singers and models that are pencil thin?

Hak has a fantastic interview with Jen Heath that discusses the importance of weight training. Even though it is geared toward endurance athletes, this interview fits perfectly with our current focus on strength training.

Happy Reading!

It is so true that the attitude toward the "ideal body" is taking a toll on us, especially psychologically. We mommies are so happy to be moms, loving our little ones and our hubbies, but with the pressure to be thin, there's always a dark cloud over us. It is hard to accept our changing bodies in relation to the images we see before us in the media but if we as women learn to support one another, I hope we will learn to ignore the "ideal body" fad and learn to love individuals as they are.
Great points Teresa. Being happy with who we are blesses the family in so many ways.
