I am participating in the as a FitFluential Ambassador.
The Under Armour “What’s Beautiful” Campaign is a competition to redefine the female athlete. Although there will be “winners” and likely NOT me. That is OK. I am proud to be participating in a campaign that promotes the strength in women that makes us all beautiful. Here is a description from the site:
I have decided to set 2 goals. First, I will run at least one 5K in the next month. I have signed up for the Splash of Color race with my 7 year old daughter. I am so excited for her to experience the thrill of setting a goal and achieving it. Our goal is to look like this at the end:
My second goal is to complete at least one mud run (aka obstacle race) this summer. I have signed the entire family up for Ruckus Boston. We will be participating on Father’s Day so my hubby gets to run for free. I love that this event has choices for all levels. Even the kids can participate in the “mini-ruck.” This will be me in a few weeks:
Compared to some of the other Under Armour athletes who will be completing triathlons and marathons, my goals might seem a bit meager, but they are good for where I am in my fitness right now. I am not comparing myself to others, I am competing to better myself. I am certainly inspired by the women who strive to be the winners in this competition, but I find myself even more inspired by those of us who are pushing ourselves past the limits of what we think we can do.
My team is Team Fearless with the motto: Feel the fear and go for it anyway! Try something you have never done before. Come join me to challenge yourself. If not my team, there are hundreds of others to choose from.
Build confidence! We are capable of anything we set out to do, we just need the confidence to succeed. Confidence = Success! Step out of your comfort zone with confidence and achieve a goal you have always wanted to achieve.
Everyday, I will encourage one woman to invest in herself and redefine what’s beautiful.
How can you go wrong with these amazing women to inspire you? Come join the challenge . Create a profile, join some teams and inspire yourself to do more, reach further, achieve, and succeed!
Of course, this campaign has also got me thinking about what is beautiful. According to the Dictionary.com:
Having beauty. Possessing qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc. Delighting the senses or mind.
I think we often think of beauty as something to look at. I love the idea that beauty is something we can think about. The idea that beauty comes from within. I am beautiful on the inside. Every time I am critical about my looks, I need to remember this. I AM BEAUTIFUL WITHIN. You are too!
I hope you are inspired in some small way to consider what is beautiful about you. Take some time to challenge yourself, even if it’s just to take a walk and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
