Pumpkins & Possibilities

Posted Oct 18 2011 2:19pm

Good afternoon, everyone!  I’ve been up since before 6AM and go-go-go because Caleb had a field trip with his preschool class today.

Its funny how in order for me to get somewhere by 10AM, the prep needs to start 4 hours ahead of time.

By the time I got my shower, makeup, and hair (which I don’t even know why I bother with because it goes right up into a bun as soon as its dried and staightened Smile with tongue out ), Caleb was up, and my typical morning chores needed to get done.

After the kids were fed, dressed, and Noah was out the door, it was mine & Caleb’s turn to head out too…we headed about 20 miles north to Forrest Hall Farm in Mechanicsville, MD.

We came here last year when Noah was attending the preschool…

The weather was MUCH different last year.  It was chilly, in the 40s, very fall-like.  Today was warmer, in the upper 60s, and very much like winter in Florida. Winking smile

We had a lot of fun on the playground…

He stuck to mainly the tractor and train models…

We went on a tractor pull, which I don’t have any pictures of because I was holding onto Caleb for dear life.

At the end, he got to pick out a pumpkin…I told him to find the biggest one he could. Winking smile

He’s such a ham. Winking smile

We had a good time, and even though I spend practically 24/7 with Caleb, it was nice to have a one-on-one activity with him.  I always joke about what a handful he is, but he really is a great kid. Smile

So, this morning, before all the chaos of kids and chores ensued, I was able to sit down at the laptop for five seconds and do something I’d been wanting to do for awhile now…

I registered for a workshop to earn my Primary Group Exercise certification through AFAA (Aerobics & Fitness Association of America) !  Every year, AFAA has a semi-annual event they call their APEX event , where certifications and workshops are offered in multiple cities around the US for a $99 a day.  That’s a $200+ savings on most of these workshops!

I am SUPER excited for all the possibilities!  I am excited to possibly teach step and circuit/bootcamp style classes, as well as excited to maybe do 30/30 spin classes.  I will also be able to help out more at the gym with this certification.  There are so many opportunities to sub for classes that I am not certified to teach and I have to literally sit on my hands to NOT volunteer to teach these classes.

This will happen in February.  I signed up now to guarantee my spot…its just too good to pass up!  Stand by though, I am still looking at a Les Mills certification…I just need to see what opportunities open up. Smile

Ok…gotta send this one off so that I can put my profiles & playlists together for tomorrow…I’m teaching TWO classes plus helping out with another!  You all have a great afternoon!
