Postpartum Weight Loss: Riding Bike for Weight Loss

To Sara of Fit by Sara:  “How long should I ride on my recumbent bike if I want to lose weight and not just maintain my weight?”

From Fit by Sara: “It’s not so much the length of time you ride your bike, but more the intensity of how you ride your bike. If you want to lose weight I recommend varying up the program with hills. Hills will make your muscles work hard so you burn more calories.  You can do a hill or interval program for 30 minutes and burn significantly more calories than a non-hill program. Work up to 30-40 min. of intervals or hills 4 times per week to lose weight.” -Sara Holliday MFT, CPT
