Gathering Around the Dining Table

Posted by Nirmala N.

A recent study reveals that families who gather around the dining table together each night tend to be better off--kids do better in school and are less likely to abuse drugs, alcohol, or tobacco--not to mention they tend to eat more nutritious meals and develop good eating habits for life. If you have a family, do you gather around the table together? And when you were young, did you do so, as well? How do you feel that did or didn't affect you in later life?

Great idea!. My family definitely was dedicated to family time around the dinner table when i was a kid...no TV, no side conversations, just all-inclusive discussion. I must say, I enjoyed it, and I still consider meal times a key time to slow down, enjoy, and spend quality time with others.
