Fit Mom’s Top 5 Stress Busters!

Posted Dec 12 2010 11:59pm

We are all massively busy during the holiday season.

Who’s got their shopping done?

We have done no shopping and as of yet, have no tree! Well, we have lights on the house and the stockings are hung, so not all “Grinch-Like” over here, but, still….have lots to do yet and only two weeks to do it.

Well, here is my 2010 holiday resolve. ENJOY the time with the family and not get stressed out. If we have to have eggs for dinner, fine. If we eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch during the school week, fine- as long as their is food, we are good.
So, what are my TOP FIVE stress busters for this holiday season?

#1. Be like a duck. Let it roll off your back. Do not let anybody ruin your good spirits! Hang with the happy people.

#2. Epsom Salt. Weird, yes, but, it works. All muscle aches, mind aches, whatever, it is a nice way to unwind.

#3. A little exercise does wonders. On days when you can’t even spare an hour, 10 minutes always works for me- some of the best ones are the jump rope/sit-up workouts that are seriously less than ten minutes. And, I can have a dramatic mood swing upon finishing even a short little workout.

#4. Eat really clean 90% of the time. Yes, indulge at the holiday parties, but, don’t go crazy. If there is more than one party in the week, then, eat the really TASTY stuff and avoid the not so tasty stuff. Go for quality – 85% dark chocolate rather than the sugar cookie.

#5. Plan ahead. Reconnect with friends you haven’t seen in a while and indulge in a babysitter for a girl’s shopping trip. I am.

That’s it for me. What are your top FIVE holiday stress busters?
