Don't Waste Your Money On These 6 Fitness Products!!!

As Seen On Tv: Worst Fitness Products

I used to work at an accounting office with a female co-worker who was interested in losing a few pounds for her upcoming wedding. With me being heavily into fitness & health, she would as my advice on various workouts and products (*cough* or I probably just volunteered my opinion *cough*). When I would jokingly bring up or suggest certain products, she would almost always reply with,"I tried that before" and I would almost always reply with "are you serious?!?!" She actually admitted to be being addicted to buying the newest fad in fitness diets and equipment. I was shocked that I'd met somebody on the opposite end of the spectrum as me in terms of buying fitness fads as I am very hesitant in that category (i.e, I wouldn't take a protein shake for years until I an ok from several medical professionals that it wasn't detrimental to my health). Therefore, I made this post directly for those of you who are addicted to fitness fads, to be leery like me!

The Shake Weight

Really??? If THIS product is revolutionary and effective, then the lumbrjack at your local construction site must be ripped! Or not. You might be better off getting the salt shaker out and salting your french fries for 20 minutes rather than spend the cash on The ShakeWeight. It is supposed to somehow get you ripped by its "Dynamic Inertia Technology" by sending constant shock waves throughout your body keeping your muscles at heightened state of tension but will produce no new muscle, only temporarily send blood to the worked areas to make you feel like you've worked out. Price $29.95.

The FlexPro Ab Toning Belt

First off, there is no shortcut to 6 pack abs or everybody in America would have one. Secondly, if there was a device that you could just wear to work and get toned abs, everybody in America would have one! All this product appears to be is a sweatband that is wrapped around your abdomen to promote fat loss in your midsection. I have known sweatbands to be very successful in post natal women to help reshrink their uterus, but the "nano" technology that is supposed to simulate a muscle contraction to get you toned abs is ridiculous. Price $99.99.

The Spin Gym

Using the "Gyrotronic Resistance Training", you will probably sweat as you would doing any movement for 20 or 30 minutes straight, but tone muscles that way? I doubt it. Gyrating against gravity is no where near as effective as resistance training, i.e lifting weights, pushups, etc. Its similarly effective as holding a wet towel at both ends and rolling it back and forth. Price $29.99.

Ab Circle Pro

"The treadmill for your abs" is designed to tone and tighten your core muscles (glutes, hips, thighs, and abs) by sliding your body in a semi-circle repeatedly. I could very well understand this being effective for getting rid of love handles or tightening your obliques, but an entire core sculptor it is not! Maybe for beginners, I would recommend doing this equipment as it is not a lot of resistance, but intermediate to advanced level exercisers, you will probably end up adding different exercises along with it. Therefore, don't expect this machine to be your all in all, but another option to work a different angle of your abs. Price $199.95.

The Ab Lounge

So you want to get a 6-pack while you "lounge" and watch t.v. huh? Well not with this product you won't! I have never known an effective exercise that doesn't require your targeted muscle group to be used in performing all of the movement. With the Ab Lounge, it is essentially an assisted crunch in a lounge chair and while I've heard that it can be beneficial to those with back problems, I wouldn't recommend this if you're looking for a chiseled mid-section. Price $79.99.

Velform Sauna Belt

Yet another "no effort" product that is designed to help you lose inches on your waist and belly fat by means of applying heat to your midsection via a belt wrap. Ok? This is essentially just the FlexPro Ab Toning Belt using heat instead of "nano technology". Don't get me wrong, it may actually be effective if it is utilized while walking, running, or working out to induce more body fat burning. But, just as if you're a regular in the steam room or sauna, and you don't lift weights or do cardio, you will probably not see maximum results from losing large amounts of bodily water. Price $49.99.

There are plenty of products that make millions of dollars but rarely ever produce the results as advertised. So, beware of spending your hard earned money on something that will soon be collecting dust in your basement or closet. Before you purchase your next piece of equipment, do a thorough investigation as there are thousands of reviews on the internet to help give you an overview of its effectiveness.
