Dips for My Honey Dip.

Posted Nov 29 2011 9:04am

As I was doing dips this morning coming up with new ideas for cookies, Herman Cain was back all over my teevees. This was unfortunate, because I was just trying to catch a few solid minutes of my dreamy anchorman, Ken Rosato. (He is also a former fattie, and has a tiny dog. Not sure if he’s straight, but I love him.)

Herman Cain can’t seem to catch a break, can he? Do you know what I bet he’s really good at catching? STDs. First, it’s all the harassment, now it’s an affair. I think we may get to meet his second wife next week. Do you think she has really high hair like the fundie polygamists? I jest, but wouldn’t that be hilarious? Picture it, Herman Cain, wife #1, kids, and wife #2 with sky high hair, pastel pasture dress, and 11 kids under 6. Big Love: The Pizza Man.

Hey, he already has a model for a polygamist running for office!!! (That may have ended poorly.) He’s kinda making Newt and his abandoning his wife, addled with cancer, for a tryst with a younger blond, look pretty good. Seriously, could politicians get ANY worse? Don’t answer that.

I would love to see Jillian Michaels run for congress. If people weren’t listening, she’d just get in their face, scream at them, make them do push-ups until they vomit, and then, MAKE them stay to vote. Brilliant! JILLIAN FOR CONGRESS! Her business partner, Jackie Warner, is still my dream girlfriend personal trainer, though.

Well, Jackie and MizFit . (Have you seen the MizFit’s arms? Holy Moses.)

Yesterday, I had a sort of baking fail. The flavor was great. IS great, but they spread sooooo far and got soooooo brown. They are more “crisp” than cookie.

Orange Crisps. Batch 13.

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3T sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp orange extract
  • zest of 2 oranges
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1 t cream of tartar
  • 1/4 t salt
  • sprinkles-optional

Preheat oven to 350F cream butter and sugar, add in zest and egg, combine. slowly add extracts and salt. Sift in remaining ingredients and scoop onto cookie sheet 3″ apart. I might also refrigerate the dough for an hour or so and see if that prevents the spread. These are REALLY citrusy and would go wonderfully with some pinot grigio.

gild the lily- drizzle with chocolate

go crazy- do both white and dark chocolate!
