We are setting off today for an 8 day vacation with the family. Not just VC and his 3G’s. VC and his entire immediate family. His parents, all 4 of their kids and families. Its 10 Adults and 12 grandkids total. A lot of people and A lot of planning.
My fabulous sister in law has put together a fantastic adventure itinerary complete with zip lining, butterfly farms, hot springs, hiking, boating and surfing. I’m super excited!
(sidenote – she is also the most organized person on the planet. We have a 39 page PDF that outlines the entire adventure.)
The exercise of packing the family is ever evolving. When the G’s were little it was a variable circus: Travel cribs, bottles, blankets, play mats, strollers, etc …Now a days we are down to just clothes, toiletries, a potty seat and some toys. They are out of cribs, out of diapers and not using a stroller much.
Quite honestly packing was pretty easy.
Myself – welp thats another story, I am the world’s worst packer. I bring way too much and always forget a few things. Its a problem that I’ve tried to remedy and now just accept
So now that we are locked and loaded on the plane, lets talk about my hopes for this vacay.
I’m confident that the majority of my checklist will be accomplished. Its short travel, only a 5 hour flight and we have a packed adventurous schedule with activities for all ages. Including hiking, zip lining, surfing, boating, deep sea fishing and cultural exploration. We will be staying in houses with kitchens so my need to control the food I’m eating will be in my own hands, not a restaurant.
My biggest challenge will be to stick with my training plan. I have 41 Miles in total to run while I am here, and I don’t really want to do them on a treadmill … so my plan is to scope out running routes and find some scenic places to explore on the run!
I’ll try to post as much as possible and keep you up to date!
