Yahoo Travel Customer Service is TERRIBLE!

What an ordeal!

We booked travel for August 08 via Yahoo Travel, thinking it would be easier to book thru their travel service than by chasing hotels on our own.

Turns out we were horribly wrong!

We booked a stay in Portage, IN via Yahoo Travel for 5 August for one night.  We paid Yahoo Travel and had our paperwork printed.

When we arrived at the hotel, they CHARGED US AGAIN.  They said that Yahoo had not sent payment information and therefore they charged our credit card for the stay and told us to contact Yahoo Travel.

So upon returning home, that’s what we did.

On 10 September, I called Yahoo Travel and spoke with “Troy”.  I was told that they would contact the hotel and our refund would be processed in 7-15 days.  I was told that Yahoo Travel would fax the information to the hotel for a refund.

On 26 September I called again and spoke to “Kevin”.  Kevin told me that it would be handled within 7-15 BUSINESS days, and not 7-15 days as I was previously told.  Great - we can handle that.  And Kevin confirmed that Yahoo Travel had sent a fax to the hotel on 10 September.

So we waited.  And waited.  And waited.

By 4 October, still no refund.


Fed up with waiting,  in mid-October I called the hotel myself and spoke with the front desk.  I was told that the accountant would have to issue the refund, so I gave them our booking info and again waited.

And waited.

And waited.

Today, 2 December, I called the hotel again and this time asked to speak to the accountant directly.  He had NEVER been told to issue a refund.  He knew NOTHING about it.

He has promised to get back to me in 1-2 days with the information on the refund.

So now I wait again.

Trust me, Yahoo Travel will NEVER get business from this family again!
