I've been working on some small projects for Christmas gifts and finishing up stuff for my sewing class.
Yesterday was the last sewing class of the semester and as much as I enjoyed my class this semester I'm glad it's over. With about 2 inches left to sew on my final sewing class project, my sewing machine tried to attach me to my vest. Luckily, no blood ended up on the fabric but it still hurt like ________. Well, you get the idea, just fill in the blank with the word of your choosing. I was about a millimeter away from going through the nail but thank goodness I missed.
The worst part of the whole ordeal was that I hadn't realized how much I use my left index finger for English knitting. You would think that since I throw the yarn with my right hand I'd be okay having an injury on my left hand. Nope, apparently not.
So I attempted to add a little more to the Dolores Park Cowl that I'm working on, this one in Malabrigo Chunky - Black. That however, didn't work out very well. I didn't want to keep saying "Oww!" with each stitch. I did finish one in Malabrigo Chunky - Tortuga over the weekend. It was easy knitting during Mr. Skinny's wrestling tournament and in the car. (Mr. Skinny is my 15 year old son.)
The mystery WIP from last week is not good tournament or car knitting due to the complex cables and that it is charted, so that hasn't progressed much more. I haven't decided 100% who will get this one, I have a candidate that's 99.999999999% probably going to get it but we'll see.
Now that I won't be sewing on deadline for my class I get to sew for fun. Mr. Skinny asked me to make him some pajama pants, I have a cool flannel fabric that he likes so I'll start working on those. I'm going to get some flannel to make myself some pajama pants also and I'm going to look for some Star Wars fabric to make some pajama pants for Mr. Snugglebunny, my 7 year old. I'll have to see if Mr. Bubba - my husband - wants a new pair of pajama pants for Christmas.
We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, we all get together at my in-laws house for a pajama party. We have dinner, we usually watch movies and we usually wait up until midnight to wish each other Merry Christmas. We used to get all dressed up for it and one year someone suggested we have a pajama party instead. So, pajama party it is.
What are you working on? Are you all done with your Christmas shopping and/or crafting? I linked up over at Tami's Amis .
