What are some sleep tips that you recommend for fibromyaglia sufferers?

Posted Jul 15 2010 11:31am
I have heard that insufficient sleep patterns can aggravate my fibromyalgia. What are some sleep tips that you recommend?

Insufficient sleep is associated with a number of chronic diseases and conditions, such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, obesity and depression. Sufficient sleep is increasingly being recognized as an essential aspect of chronic disease prevention and health promotion. Sleep needs vary between individuals and change with age. If sleepiness interferes with your daily activities, you probably need more sleep.

The following suggestions may help you sleep better:
• Go to bed at the same time each night and rise at the same time each morning.
• Sleep in a quiet, dark and relaxing environment.
• Avoid physical activity within a few hours of bedtime.
• Avoid large meals before bedtime.
