The basis of your life is Freedom; the purpose of your life is Joy.

Posted Oct 23 2008 5:50pm

The title of this message contains some words from Esther Hicks. She calls herself a channel. She says her information comes from a group of non-physical beings. If this concept bothers you, suspend it, for her message can help you. For a few moments while I finish this post, please accept that she's created a very valuable message, and let go of her means of delivering it. If you are aware of any dis-ease in your body, this information can set you on the most gratifying and rewarding path in your life so far! But is imperative you find a way to believe it's possible.

I personally am close to 3 people living with fibromyalgia. My mother in law has had it for 40 years. She often amazes me with her fortitude, her will to go on, to live through the wracking, debilitating symptoms she experiences. She's been challenged by depression, intense pain, and sleepless nights, among other things. Knowing her condition, I am continually amazed at her drive to exercise each day, no matter how she is feeling. These three wonderful people remind me that "thoughts are things".

How do you stay positive and feel joyous when these symptoms are so powerful? Unfortunately, what I see is the dis-ease becoming the focus, naturally. If the dis-ease represents the symptoms above, and the mind tends to focus on "fighting" through the pain, and all the related thoughts that might naturally spring from fibromyalgia, then it should come as no surprise that your thoughts and your feelings are reinforcing this whole experience. Of course they are! It is human to react to our body's signals! What if over time, though, you could begin to over-ride some of these thoughts with better thoughts? Can you imagine that the circle of cause and effect might begin to give you an edge? Can you envision yourself becoming skilled at using your "internal guidance system" to produce a different life for yourself? A life with more joy, more freedom, and most of all, well-being?

Don't throw out anything you are doing to feel better. I am not advocating giving up your doctor, your medicine, or anything else that you have chosen to heal yourself. You are on the path to wellness and all choices are moving you towards your goal. Embrace them all, and be grateful you have so many options.
