Serotonin Effect

Posted by mjeudevine

I have MS, FMS, RA, IBS, EBV, Primary Insomnia, Chronic Back Pain, and Major Depressive Disorder.  I take quite a few medications, including Flexeril and Ultram.  My Rhuematologist recently switched Flexeril for Skelaxin due to the interaction of Flexeril and Ultram; specifically that the two together cause a Seratonin Effect.  What is exactly Serotonin Effect, and what effect may it have had on me?  Does it potentially have an impact on my insomnia?  Can I still take Flexeril during the day?  Should the Flexeril be abandoned entirely?  Help!
