Mamavation Monday - "Move It & Lose It Challenge" - Week 1

Remember when I told you that I applied to be one of the Mamavation Moms and then I told you that I didn't make the final 5.......Well, that isn't necessarily bad news.  Why you ask?  There is another little competition for all of us applicants that didn't make it as the next two Mamavation Moms.  This is pretty exciting.  Let me just give you the low down straight from Mamavation so you can see exactly what I have to do.


All applicants who applied to the Mamavation campaign have been encouraged to enter the  "Move It & Lose It" Challenge  sponsored by  Earth Footwear . The applicant that loses the highest percentage of body weight during the seven week campaign will win $500 and a pair of shoes. The second place winner will also win a pair of shoes. 

START THIS MONDAY (Week 1) by doing the following
1. Create a Mamavation Monday post each week of the campaign and update us on your weekly weight loss.
2. Include a picture in each post of your toes on the scale. We need to be able to see how much you weigh in that picture in order to verify your weight loss.
3. Measure yourself and post your measurements on your first Mamavation Monday post with week one of the campaign. Then measure at week 5 and week 7. Include bust, waist, hips, thighs, & arms.
4. Take pictures of yourself, front and back. Post them on your first post and then take additional pictures to post on week 7.
5. Continue to support the Mamavation Sistahood on twitter and engage with them daily
6. Link your weekly post up on Bookieboo.com in the Mamavation Group, so others can encourage you

Applicants who have already been changing their lifestyle and exercising are in luck. I'm using the weigh-in amounts to start from the applications that were submitted. So if you applied early and got your butt in gear, good for you. Let the games begin!



Yes, I can win $500 and a pair of Earthwear shoes but did you see what you are going to learn about me??  I know, it is the same stuff you would learn if I was one of the Mamavation Moms but then why does this seem so different?  I don't know but what I know is that this is all about accountability and support.  So, don't talk about me, shun me, whisper about me, think less of me.  I am putting it all out there for you to see and for me to share so you can help me and be supportive to me.
   
Since I got sick almost 4 years ago, I have put on quite a bit of weight and yes it is one of those catch 22's.  The medications made me gain from prednisone to the meds for fibro.  Also, the major factor is no activity because of pain.  I haven't been able to walk around the block let alone exercise to keep myself healthy.  The catch 22 is that exercise and being a healthy weight is supposed to make me feel better.  Unfortunately being physically disabled is not a great plus when you are trying to lose weight.  I don't even get the normal daily routine exercise I used to get let along real exercise so I don't quite know how this is going to work but I am willing to try if  you will help me! So here goes the rules:


I am up .8 lbs from last week.  I think it is the water.  I didn't drink as much as I did the last couple of weeks.  Okay, maybe I had a Reeses peanut butter bunny that the Easter Bunny gave me.  (He is my enabler....he loves me no matter what)




Week 1 - Weigh In I (Wowsie, I really need a pedicure! )






 Now here are the scary pictures.  I can handle you seeing my bad pedicure but here goes the naked pictures of me.... alright not naked........but it sures feels like it !  And of course it is a bad fibro day.  I have been awake since 2:30 this morning and not feeling the greatest so you get a great shot....no hair done, no makeup, no fancy clothes.  I guess I might as well show you my worst picture as a before picture!  That is what they do in all the advertisements, isn't it? 



 Okay, it appears that  my hubby moved while taking the behind picture.  Sorry for the blurs....it really is better that way!  


And for the last item required this week, here are my measurements:


bust - 49 1/2"
waist - 49"
hips - 52 1/2"
left thigh - 28"
right thigh - 28"
left arm - 14 1/2"
right arm - 14"


So that is the skinny.....no pun intended!  Please pray for me and send me your support!  I definitely need them!  Thanks so much.  You are all such a blessing to me!
