Fibromyalgia is a chronic muscle pain syndrome that I can personally write about. I have suffered with chronic pain and bone crushing fatigue for the last 20 years. I am only 41. For many years, I didn't know what the problem was called but when I started researching the subject back in the 90's, I figured out what was wrong.
The biggest problem is that there is no definitive test that can diagnose the disease. It's a rule of exclusion. Unfortunately, that is a problem because most people are frustrated and sick and tired of being sick and tired!
I am very familiar with the trigger points because I have all of them myself. A health care professional that knows where they are located can diagnose someone is just a few minutes. I still run all of the labs of exclusion though to make sure that one does not have other issues like hypothyroidism.
Stay tuned for more about my personal battle with this chronic disease.
