Don't Waste Money for a Kindle - Download the Free Kindle for PC and Get Free Books

Posted Feb 17 2010 12:00am
As I have told you guys many times...........I just sort of fell into this blogging thing last winter while being incapacitated and in pain at home.  I couldn't get out of the house much and I found my laptop to be my companionship while my hubby was working and my kiddos were at school.

But, as God always does with me.........he has blessed me to no ends because of my pain.  I have met so many wonderful Christian women and men in the last year.  I have learned so much from them not only about blogging, twitter, and facebook, but also about living a Christian life.  I have made some sincere friends that I love to hear from every day via the internet.

Well, last night was no different.  One blog author I follow is Sarah Mae from "Like a Warm Cup of Coffee" .  I can tell she is a wonderful women of God without ever meeting her in personAs we are to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, we are also to love our neighbor more than ourselves and I feel that is what Sarah Mae does.  She had a twitter party so that us newbies and oldies, as well, could learn everything about getting a sponsor for a blog conference.

I never really thought about going to a conference until I kept reading all the updates about "Blissdom" and after that I became hooked.  I learned about a conference called "The Relevant Conference " and I know this conference is meant for me.  The hosts and the speakers are some of the most awesome bloggers that I have met over the last year.  Just take a look at the conference's mission statement found on their home page:

The Relevant Conference exists to offer a place of face to face interaction with Christian women bloggers who want to be relevant in the larger blog and social media world. Our goal is to go beyond the surface into intentional blogging and real life living. We support women turning their hearts toward home and using their blogs to bless their families while also engaging the world for the glory of God. Relevant is a one-of-a-kind conference that seeks to engage women by teaching blogging techniques and social media skill while also urging and encouraging women to live fully integrated lives with their faith and family.

Now do you see why I really want to go to this conference above all other blog conferences out there?  Can you imagine being in a place with not only because of wonderful speakers but also because of all of the Christian fellowship that will be going on.

Back to the twitter party.  Tommy Nelson was going to be a guest at Sarah Mae's party.  Now, was that incredible?  If you haven't heard of Tommy Nelson then let me ask you......Do You Live Under A Rock????? They are the children's division of Thomas Nelson, Inc.  Just teasing.  Seriously, I have been a huge fan of Tommy Nelson and Thomas Nelson Inc. since I started following Women of Faith and that was years ago, way before blogging.

Side note -  I am going to my first Women of Faith conference next month.  I am totally excited!!!!

Can you imagine my excitement when I knew Tommy Nelson was going to be at the party?  They are like superstars to me...just to be in their presence....no, I am not coveting...ok, maybe a little!  The publishers of most of the Women of Faith kid's products I have on my shelves were going to be at the party.  Just to mention a few products we own....let's see....all the Gigi books and Gigi doll, the Will bible, t-shirt and books. Oh, yes, and don't let me forget about the Hermie dvd's too.  I think I own stock in the company by now.  I really have a lot of their products and will continue to increase my inventory because I love this company.  These awesome people were going to be at the party so I knew I had to be there!

I just wanted to learn from Sarah Mae and Tommy Nelson last night at the twitter party.   I was not disappointed.  What did I learn?  I am still going through my notes and the tweets.  I will have to tell you about my education in another post.  I just wanted you to know how blessed I was again by my Father God.  I would have never met these wonderful people without him. And I want you to meet them if you haven't and I also want to share the Relevant Conference with you if you haven't heard about that either!

Please go visit Sarah Mae at her blog, Like a Warm Cup of Coffee and visit Tommy Nelson at their site.  You will immediately fall in love!   If you need an opinion about one of the Tommy Nelson products, just ask............I may be able to help....I may own it! :)  By the way, I just signed up to be a book reviewer for Thomas Nelson, Inc so you can look forward to those posts in the future!  Maybe I can be a reviewer for Tommy Nelson.  My kids and I would love that!

Have a blessed and pain free day!

P.S. to Tommy Nelson.....I think I may just have a Tommy Nelson house party even if I don't represent you at a conference.  I love your products that much and now that I know you better from the twitter party, I want to spread your name to everyone I know in my social media land and my real home land!

Also, here is one more idea if you didn't hear this last night.....this idea is stolen from my friend Jodi at FamilyRambling .   Make chocolates with your name on them to have handed out at the conference.  These are about 2"x2" and they look yummy.  Okay, I just tasted them and they are yummy!  I could probably say 99% of all conference attendees would love you, remember you, and buy your products if you gave them chocolate!!!  Here is a picture of Jody's calling card chocolates!  I can let you know who made them if you want the info! Or maybe I could be the one to hand them out! Hint, hint!!!

I am blessed and not having terrible pain today!
