“30 Things About My Chronic Illness ” Meme

This is my ''30 things about my invisible illness'' meme for Invisible Illness Week :



1. The illness I live with is: fibromyalgia (fms) 2. I was diagnosed with it in the year: 2009 3. But I have had symptoms since: 2006 4. The biggest adjustment I have had to make is: making time every day for 12 hours sleep 5. People assume that: because I look ok I feel ok, and a good day means I'm getting better 6. The hardest part about the mornings: is finding the energy to get started 7. My favourite medical tv show is: Grey's Anatomy 8. A gadget I can't live without is: my Kindle 9. The hardest thing about the night's is: going to bed not knowing how I will feel the next day 10. Each day I take 2-3 pills or vitamins 11. Regarding alternative treatments I: haven't really explored all the options but I get regular massages
12. If I had to choose between an invisible illness or visible I would choose: invisible, at least I mostly get to choose who I tell about my illness
13. Regarding working and career: I don't know what the future is going to bring, but I have made a lot of compromises
14. People would be surprised to know: how hard it is to live with this illness
15. The hardest thing to accept about my new reality has been: the unpredictability, not knowing how much pain I will be in or how much energy I will have
16. Something I never thought I could do with my illness that I did was: get my drivers license and feel comfortable driving
17. The commercials about my illness: always seem to be about one brand of medication
18. Something I really miss doing since I was diagnosed is: reading a paperback
19. It was really hard to have to give up: everything I have had to give up because of this illness
20. A new hobby I have taken up since my diagnosis is: fostering hedgehogs
21. If I could have one day of feeling normal again I would: not know what to do with myself
22. My illness has taught me: that people are far more and far less understanding than you would think
