We've all heard that moderate consumption of wine may be beneficial - One problem though, what is moderate. The property in wine that gives the benefits must be consumed in the order of 1000 bottles per day. I think I would live a lot longer also if I was drunk and comatose all day.
Obviously the property that provides the benefits would need to be refined - without alcohol - to get the desired benefits.
What intrigued me the most about the study though was how a calorie restricted diet also slows the aging process. So, maybe that dieting that you are doing is more beneficial than just the weight loss that you are trying to achieve.
