A few statistics for you. These are great numbers to chew on as so many people are constantly telling me that they can't lose weight. When I dive into the problem I find that they are (a) not journaling their foods, and (b) if they are using journals they are just using it as a scratch pad, not an analysis tool. Bottom line it comes down to accountability. Do you want it bad enough.

6 Reasons Why We’re Not Eating Healthier
- 56% of Americans said they are trying to lose weight, yet 9 out of 10 didn't know how many calories they should be consuming.
- Only 11% of those dieters knew how many calories they should consume.
- 90% of Americans think breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Less than half report eating it everyday.
- More than 50% of Americans are still concerned about the amount of carbs they consume. Americans still don't understand the difference between good carbs and bad carbs.
- Most Americans, 72%, are trying to consume less fats. They are still confused on the difference between good fats vs. bad fats. Yes there are beneficial fats, ones that you should be eating.
- Functional foods, foods that can improve your health, are only consumed by 50% of Americans. The problem is that up to 80% of those surveyed are aware of the benefits.
There is a definite misunderstanding about the benefits of proper nutrition and it's importance in fat loss. And those that do understand it don't follow through.
