It's sad but true. Why is that? I guess we all loosen our resolve (and a few notches in our belts, too!) during the holiday months. I don't want that to happen this year, so I think it's best to identify my weak points now. My biggest temptations are: 1. To eat every pastry (like this one !) and dessert in sight. Sigh. I could never work at a bakery shop! 2. To stay in bed and not exercise. Okay, so number two is not exactly a temptation, but since we fall back an hour this Sunday, it will be dark earlier--and I can't stand that! Ugh. Sometimes it just downright depresses me. But it's no excuse. I was reading Self Magazine's annual America’s Healthiest Places for Women survey yesterday and was challenged by this finding: 85% of women in Madison, Wisconsin (ranked the 8th healthiest city for women in the country by the survey) get regular exercise outside of work. And they do this despite having nearly a month fewer days of sunshine than the survey's average. I don't even want to know what their average snowfall is, but those Madison women are hardcore! They put me to shame. So yeah, no excuses this winter!!! How about you? What is your biggest holiday temptation? Is it the pumpkin pie or all of that Halloween candy lying around? And does the cold weather keep you from working out, or are you a total winter sports fanatic? Please share! P.S.-Come run a 5K with us this December! It'll help stave off that holiday weight gain, plus it'll be lots of fun! Photo: Stock.xchng
